Practical example

Commercial risk review

Review risk in proportion to the commitment.

Decision

Should the organisation proceed, change its response, escalate for approval or decline?

Review lenses

  • Customer and problem fit
  • Requirements completeness and ambiguity
  • Technical and delivery feasibility
  • Capacity, dependencies and schedule
  • Commercial terms, margin and cash exposure
  • Legal, regulatory and information-security obligations
  • Novelty, change and reputational risk

Proportional control

Define thresholds. Routine, low-risk work may be reviewed by the opportunity owner; novel, high-value or regulated commitments require relevant specialists and explicit authority.

Example: Adapt this structure to your organisation, customers, risks and applicable requirements. Evidence should be useful to the work—not created only for audit.
