SALEQMS ANALYSIS

Implementation risk

Can be gamed as CRM box-ticking or used as an internal forecast score without customer evidence.

BOUNDARY

Not a complete QMS

The organisation must still govern scope, competence, commitments, handover, records, measurement, corrective action and improvement.

How it works in practice

  1. Define the customer or commercial decision this approach should improve.
  2. Train and coach observable behaviour using representative sales work.
  3. Record only information that is useful, sourced and proportionate to risk.
  4. Review outputs before commitments or downstream handovers are made.
  5. Compare outcomes with the baseline and improve the implementation.

Worked example

A team pursuing a multi-stakeholder service agreement uses MEDDIC / MEDDPICC to improve its opportunity qualification. SaleQMS then requires the team to distinguish known customer evidence from assumptions, identify ownership, review material risks and verify that the eventual commitment can be delivered. After the outcome, the team checks whether the method improved decision quality or merely added activity.

Evidence and controls

  • Competence: observed practice and coaching evidence—not attendance alone.
  • Opportunity evidence: source, date, confidence, owner and material changes.
  • Decision control: explicit criteria, authority, exceptions and next action.
  • Effectiveness: customer outcome, conversion quality, cycle time, rework and realised value.

ISO 9001 relationship

The approach may support customer communication, competence, operational planning, review of requirements, performance evaluation and improvement. It does not itself establish conformity. Applicability and sufficient objective evidence must be determined from the organisation’s context and an authorised copy of the standard.
